Hector Charles in the tiny segment of a second experiences the events of a lifetime. At a limitless and incomprehensible border he cannot comprehend where he is, who he is, or who he was. All he knew was that he was struck with an immense feeling of terror upon realizing he had no choice but to enter into the darkness suspecting that he will be judged by a divine higher power and even by himself. Hector descends into hellish depths as he is forced to systematically relive each of his actions— actions that he tries to hide at all costs and longs to forget. As he is unable to discern his real identity in this inanimate position, he suffers the consequences that resulted from the intrinsic passion that brought him to an end that neither he nor all who knew him in life could have foreseen.
He suspects that other sights beyond the darkness keep watching him without reproach, curiosity or pity. Eyes invisible to the expression of those who wait endlessly, but without love or heartbreak; Hector realizes with the speed of the light in one of those infinitesimal moments of knowledge, that for years he had looked wrongly onto the vault of heaven but never imagining that it was the space that was actually watching him from its height.
There, in what appears to be an area nestled in the past, the events of his life keep unfolding quickly in front of his absent eyes, and although, he did not want to continue watching almost forgotten actions a powerful force prevents him to stop watching. Hector had the feeling of returning to a now-defunct physical body since it was known dead, but still could not help feeling a chill penetrating what he sensed had been his humanistic spine.

El error emocional de Jack, la enorme mentira de Carolyn, el deseo de venganza de Jeff, el fracaso espiritual de un sacerdote y la debilidad de carácter de Paul, son factores que erosiona aún más, la débil estructura que sostiene los principios morales de nuestros personajes. This is the story of a massive lie kept by the members of a normal middle-class family, the Daniels. The course of their lives changes drastically after a woman comes into their lives through the sacred vow of holy matrimony. The alcoholic dependence suffered by the Daniels and the unhealthy influence of the Powells lead our characters through a series of events marked by betrayal, vengeance, and lust.
Jack’s emotional error, Carolyn’s enormous lie, Jeff’s desire for revenge, a priest’s spiritual failings, and Paul’s weakness are factors that further erode the weak structure that sustains the moral principles of our characters. This structure disintegrates when they all find themselves trapped in a vast web of intrigue and evil. Clouded by the devastating result of their actions, it is only much later in the story that they realize that they were the only victims of their desire to control the lives of others in order to satisfy their wicked intentions.
Eva’s love, Todd’s ultimate criminal sacrifice, and Isabel’s devotion undoubtedly redeem those who had been reduced to living in a perpetual darkness since they finally understand that their personal reconciliation and redemption was within reach but hidden behind love from the beginning.
